Next week Eds and I are going to start potty training. He'll be 3 on April 12th and has so far shown little sign of being interested. However he is showing more interest in our toilet habits and mimicking us, telling us when he has poohed etc.

I want to do it when I have him to myself so I thought the easter hols would be best - I would have started earlier but Eds has been whisked away by friends and family all week so it would have been difficult.

So can you please give me all your potty training hints and tips, knowledge you have learnt, any thing that might help us.

aww brilliant madz goodluck - when i started molly i used pull-ups but only for 1 day, i noticed she was peeing and pooing in it as if she was wearing a nappy so next day i tried her with proper pants and i never turned back - yes we had lots of accidents but as the days went by the less they became, and i can honestly say after the first two weeks we were lucky if we had one accident per week from then on, also i had to keep asking her if she needed the potty or she would forget and pee herself aswell we had a chart if we had a dry day then a sunshine got put in the box and if we had a wet day rain-drops got put in it at the end of the week if we had more sunshines than rain-drops molly got a treat, she did do so well we stopped the charts as it was costing me a fortune - goodluck madz xx jue xx

I think the best thing to do is just bite the bullet and get on with it really - it takes time and determination but they get there. You know about praising him etc when he does it in the potty etc and not making a huge fuss if he has an accident.

Lily has been dry in the day for a good few months now but went through a wee stage (scuse the pun) of having accidents all the time which was quite frustrating as she knew exactly what she was doing. But shes passed that now and is doing so so well - just need to tackle the night part next but leaving that for a few weeks yet.

Sticker charts are a good help too and help motivate them I think.

Good luck - hes a bright boy so I am sure he'll pick it up in no time

xx

Good luck Madz

I started Ryan off by taking him to ASDA & letting him choose his own 'big boy pants' & also got some pull up pants. Then i explained to him that if he felt a wee coming he needed to take his pants off & sit on the potty

For a few days i just left him to run around bottomless at home & he was using the potty great but then i decided to just go for it & take him out without pull ups on, he used the toilet while we were out but then after an hour he forgot & wet himself which stung his legs cause of his excema...ashame but it shocked him into not wetting himself again.

I still use pull ups on long journeys & for bed but he's generally dry thru the day now, been training for 10 days

Lots of praise & make sure everyone who cares for Ed knows you're potty training, talk about it as much as possible with him & ask every 10 minutes or so if he needs a wee but dont force him to sit on the potty - sure you know all that already tho. Oh & if he's going out without a nappy make sure you know where all the toilets are & take spare trousers & socks...

Good luck again

Good luck Madz and Eds, xx.

I just decided to start Adam off and put him in pants as soon as I got him dressed in the morning then I take him to the loo every 30 mins but I always ask if he needs to go first. He quite happily sits and pee pees.
