Can I just ask how close is the story to the truth? I know when I have been in before some bits have been altered slightly or sensationalised so I wondered if you'd found this?

The story is pretty much bang on.  There was one section that was changed a little but that was due to legal reasons and it mentions I have 2 kids not 5 (bit of a difference) but besides that, as far as I'm aware it was spot on.

The 'local man' is not true. The story was meant to be published as a Mother's Day special, but they could not get the legal documents in time to be able to print (because it contains information about a sexual assault). However, in the end they got one piece of documentation which meant printing could go ahead, and it was slightly delayed. However, they couldnt name the person because they did not have all the correct legal papers, but I can tell you that it was my paternal grandfather, not a 'local man' and therefore in my opinion makes it all the more reason to be proud of my mum and dad!

Other than that the rest of the story is true (they do say Jen went on to have 2 children before my pregnancy. Because the story was about me thanking my mum, they didnt mention Jen's later pregnancies it was an over sight on both parties) They worked really closing with me before they printed it. I had a number of interviews, and a million phone calls lol They clarified everything and then read the story to me before it went to print so I was happy with it (I didnt spot the 2/5 children mistake as I said was an oversight lol). I was really happy with the story, and they way in which they told it. When I told my story about Joshua after being asked on here, the magazine story was so way off lol It had quotes that werent said, the wrong things were emphasised on, and some of it was complete utter lies. I didnt get to see that article before it was printed but I wasn't happy with it! This one is a very different outcome.

 Thanks mum xxxxxxxxxx

I had the same experience as you did before Chris - I had two stories published and the first was pretty good but the second was absolute twaddle - it was embarressing and I wasnt at all happy!

I agree that the true facts of your situation make it even more amazing on the part of your parents.

You have been though so much Chris, and your mum has obviously been your rock through it all - I'm so pleased you were able to do something so lovely to thank her.

What did she say when she found out you had done it - and when she read it?

She was speachless when I told her I had done it, bless her. I only told her because we needed the photo's doing lol And I do believe she cried when she read it. She had to see her boss though, because of her line of work having personal details like that so public could have put her in danger, but the workplace are ensuring all is ok. Because of my dad's line of work he cant go on holiday the week they say it is in the mag, but they are sorting something out, maybe for my mum's birthday instead we need to liase with the magazine to sort that out :o)
