I still have the opinion that they'll do it when they're ready and not before.  Alex was 3 before he trained and I wasted so much time and energy trying to train him before he was fully ready- and getting so stressed out about it.  (Think I listened too much to my mum and folk saying "he should be on the potty" from the age of 2).  Then one day he ditched the pull-up pants and went to the loo and didn't look back.

I decided not to even think about it with Emilie and follow her lead- and she was ready and out of pull-up day time pants about November last year.  But- in saying that I've heard that girls tend to train faster than boys.

Him starting nursery will help his toilet training as he'll see other kids going for themselves and copy them.  I was worried about Alex starting nursery in pull ups but it helped him to understand the whole concept and want to wear big boy pants.

Try not to worry- he'll do it when he's ready.
