I have just read that Shannon Mathews mother has been arrested, charged with perverting the course of justice.

Does that mean she was in some way involved in Shannons disappearance?

Right from the start I have followed this story with interest. I have to say I did not think the immediate family were involed.

My heart goes out to poor Shannon and hope she can recover from goodness knows what she has been through.

I hope for  all Shannons siblings sake the charges are dropped...but if her mother is involved...how could she?????

I have always had a weird feeling about this case, dont know why but right from the begining it just didnt seem to quite right, and from the way the police kept it so quiet and the media kept out of it it just never seemed to be a real abduction to me and some of the quotes made from family members made me feel sick. When shannon was found and not allowed to see and be returned to the family it made me think even more that this wasnt going to be a straight foward case, i just hope for all of the children that the truth comes out and they get looked after in the best possible way. I hope the family are innocent but im afraid i dont think so i think they saw it as a quick rich scheme somehow but didnt go to plan.

Its really weird, i suspect with the charge of perverting the course of justice this could relate to the disappearance of Shannon, or maybe just to her partners arrest last week for having indecent underage images on his pc?  It all sounds a little strange though.  And I do wonder if the two incidents are linked in anyway.

I too did not think her mother would be directly involved, I hope we are right.  It is incomprehensable that her close family esp her mum could be partly or wholy to blame.

I really hope the poor girl is able to recover from her ordeal over time.

Ive been reading all about this and I'm not being horrible but they seem weird and there wasn't something quiet right with them, i also watched a program on the disappearance when the cameras were with the mum and step-dad they didn't come across as bothered at all i mean the mum was stuffing her face with a McDonald's and crisps with not a tear or worry on her face, I'm sorry but if my daughter would have gone missing i don't think i would of had an appetite for weeks - i think they have done it for money - its a scam and its gone all wrong and it will back fire on them all which I'm sorry i have no sympathy for them i think the mother is also getting charged with neglect, i did watch that episode of shameless and if they can blame it on that they must be thick to think they would ever get away with it!!!! i just hope poor Shannon's o.k bless her xxx

I don't know what to say i find a child getting seperated for a min or two..... i get the pounding heart and all teary eyed (not normally my kids but happened alot when i was working).

I really feel for anyone who has a child go missing but to be involved or know and instigate it is.... well i can't even think of the words.... I get goose bumps and teary thinking about it.

I just know if she is involved i hope she rots in jail.... sorry may seem harsh but i can't understand how if you love your kids so much could you do this.

But if it's the uncle protecting then i think he went about it all wrong but i'm glad someone did something to protect the child.....

God listen to me ramble on.... right i'm stopping promise... thats my 2 pence worth
