"I knew it was too good to be true......."

Hi all

Well today is really turning into a shocker!  First as per my previous post, I am in agony with the abdominal pain and I am having to crawl around the house which is very annoying, although to an observer may be quite funny!  Thank god I work from home today - lol through the tears!

Now the buyer of my house has pulled out.  I can't remember what I have said on here about house move (yes - i know Drs tell me to reduce stress so muggins here decides to move before baby arrives!), anyway quick recap:

  1. Found out preggers
  2. current house too small for us two, a child, and ability to work from home
  3. Not sure how finances wil be when and if I go back to work after mat leave.
  4. Find a house (that is empty) love it, put an offer in to buy and get confirmation that we can buy the new house without wating to sell this one (ie can mamage the 2 mortgages in the short term, so long as we sell and complete on this one before I go down to the £100ish per week mat pay).
  5. 1st person who looks at our house 3 weeks ago puts in an offer - yippee!
  6. Exchanged on new house last Friday - on track to complete this Friday.
  7. Everything in place to move slowly between 11th and 20th April (ie stress reduced!).

So everything was, I suppose, too good to be true, especially as in parallel I have been managing my own pg problems better and feeling less anxious/depressed.

Have just had an e-mail/call from DP after chasing the estate agent as all had gone quiet on the buying front:

"Right then - the toe rag has pulled outApparently a friend of his in Lutterworth said there was a gang war going on near town. How are you supposed to respond to that?! Rob at Haart says he has heard some excuses in his time, but that takes the biscuit At least we know now and we can crack on."

This is really strange, ok I do not live in the up market area of Leicester, but we have lived here over 11 years and there is no evidence of Gang war fare!!  The area is victorian terraced streets with a mix of Students, 1st time buyer types (like us) and older people who have lived here all their lives.  The most annoying thing is not being able to park outside our house during the day as people tend to park and then walk to town for work (about 10 15 mins from here)!

Now I am panicking that we will not sell this one in time and if we go ahead and move into the new one as planned next week then once all our furniture has gone this house will look more shabby and will be even harder to sell esp in the current climate.

I have now cried myself a panic attack and I had not had one for 2 weeks, my BP monitor wont even give me a reading and I am so cross with him and myself.  Fine I know people pull out but to fob us off for three weeks and then give such a bizarre excuse....he knew we were looking for a reliable quick sale.

Sorry for the rambling rant but I hardly ever get angry and I am at home alone so no one to rant at!

One day I prommise to come on here and tell you everything is great!  hopefully this will be in just over a weeks time when I am in the new house and DP has taken control of selling this one!

Wish I could have a ciggie/wine - not missed either that much while pg but today I am sooooooooooo tempted.  Don't worry, I will not give in!

awwww no im so sorry you can realy do without this now,it must be so hard for you,im sure though that things will work out for you and youl look back and wonder what all the panic was about,it is hard enough moving home at any time but whilst preg and about to take mat leave is a huge thing,i cant belive the bloke has pulled out on you, some people are so thoughtless and selfish,if he had just told you weeks ago you would have had more to work with....some houses sell in days and some in months hun its just got to be for the right person so i really hope you get lucky and someone comes through for you,pls try not to worry n stress about it,concentrate on getting into your new house and the baby etc and just go with whatever happens....chin up and good luck xxx

Jeepers  that's not good news.

I've been following the housing market closely since last August when everything started to change, it now has some rough years ahead, as I am sure you don't need me to tell you. The thing is though there are still a lot of people out there that don't know or don't want to know what's coming and a percentage of those people have mortgage offers that they secured before the recent reductions in mortgage deals and the general mortgage credit squeeze. Can you not go for damage limitation and noticeably discount your asking price, that may well attract one them into a quick sale.

Oh no - am sorry to hear that - not what you need especially at the moment. Hopefully someone else will come along quickly and fall in love with your house. I remember trying to sell our flat when I was pg with Ruthie. I had awful SPD and used to drag myself round before a viewing getting the place extra nice....only for them to not bother to turn up. It is soul-destroying,doll but you'll get there. Take good care of yourself and the baby, and try not to worry too much - it will be ok in the end.

In the meantime, we are all here to rant at!

xxx

Thanks everyone, have calmed down a bit now:

Estate agent is sending a viewer round tomorrow eve, so am knackered as have been running around tonight getting everything ship shape (although DP has done most of the work as have been very pathetic)!

Fingers crossed but also being realistic.  Will need to hassle the hell out of the estate agents now! Esp since the web page still says Sold: http://www.haart.co.uk/buying-house/Mapsearch/search-results /Property-details_42977.aspx (for those of you who are as nosey as me!)

I am feeling a lot better after everyones messages, a bath and a cuddle from DP!  Will now focus on the move to the lovely new house and try not to worry about this one!  Big thanks to you all for today, will keep you posted  xx

Aw hun..

I'm really orry to hear of your problems, buying/selling is stressful enough without everything else thrown in.. What's the rental market like in your area? would that be worth looking into in the meantime? you could maybe get the estate agents to manage it for you (thus reducing stress again)?.  I've got to admit, that's one of the goods things about the Scottish system when it comes to buying/selling houses as they wouldn;t be allowed to do that (especially at such a late stage!.. mind you, the pricing system is far better down south so I suppose we could each benefit!).

I really hope everything works out for you hun and you don;t end up reducing it..

Good Luck tonight... pass this one over to your Dh to deal with. Try not to stress easier said than done... Fingers crossed tonight!

Today is my last day at work until 22 April and the sun is shining, its my birthday tomorrow and hopefully the new house will be my very special pressie!

Thank you for all your support when I was down in the dumps.

Hopefully my good mood will last more than a few hours this time!

Thanks again
