Do you use the facilities offered by restauarants, service stations and shops?

Ive just watched a news stream about a company that tested a number of baby changing facilities in the south of England. They found harmful bacteria on many of the stations, broken straps, general poor hygene (Mothercare's bottle warmers were horrible) and they also found traces of cocaine in more than one changing room!!

I know a few baby changing facilities in Bury use blue lightening to prevent drug users from using the rooms! I avoided using the facilities where possible when Joshua was little, and always wiped it down first, and when I left if I had to use one.

lol funny you should bring this up..... i was only thinking the other day how many times i'd complained to management about it.

I tend to change my son in the car if i can or have to. I think it's disgusting that people still expect us to feed our kids in loo's let alone change them in there when they're so disgusting!

It really makes your tummy churn!

Ok, in cheltenham we only have mothercare with proper facilities and as said by every1, these leave alot to be desired. When lil man was little, I was breast feeding and we went to gloucester for the day....and there is NOWHERE that allows you to breastfeed anywhere!! Due to the freezing weather and nasty comments I ended up having to sit on a toilet seat, in a cafe to feed my son!!

I was just about to post this - its awful!

Our local mothercare in cambridge has lovely facilities and a gorgeous room with rocker chairs and a watercooler and magazines for breastfeeding. But most places are awful - I end up using half a pack of wipes cleaning up before I start.

As for breastfeeding - sorry but I breastfed in public and I think everyone should do the same - no one should be relegated to the toilets or changing areas to feed thier babies.

I agree with Madz on this one, i was asked once to go to the loo's and i said very politely (yes i managed it!) would you take your dinner and eat in there? urm nope so don't expect my son to do so either..... if it offends you sit facing the other way!

This is something that annoys me big time.

I used to go into a coffee shop and order a coffee, or even a water, and sit and feed my baby.

As many of the madmums know this is an issue that really gets to me.

It really gets to me to chic, but the only coffee shop that was open (the one whos toilet I ended up having to use) I think was called Soho coffee?? I got told by staff to either use the toilet or leave and as brandon needed a feed I didnt have a choice

I never used them unless I absolutely had to. I always had a packet of sterilising wipes in my baby bag so would wipe down the mat etc before using it.
