Its true...im going to have to learn to let go of tasja a little bit.

Shes settled in really well at her new school, and has a full gaggle of friends.  We were going to leave it a bit longer before letting her have her pals round...a case of see who are real friends (as in when the new girl novelty has worn off).

Now, in the last week of school, she came home all hyped up apparently, and told grandma that she has a boyfriend (and was blushing furiously), now shes had boyfriends before bless her...or rather shes just told them your my boyfriend and that was that...think her record was 5 on the go...was so proud.

Anyway, she asked my mum to tell me as she didnt want to get into trouble lol.  So I got home from work, extremely knackered as id got stuck in traffic, making it 3 hours for me to get home.  So shes sat there all quiet, and tells me about this lad.

His name is Matthew, hes in year 5 and he 'asked her out at lunchtime'.  Hes held her hand round the playground..but she wont kiss him as thats just gross.  Which amused me no end...ive never seen her blush sooooo much in my life.  She told Joe when he got in...and oh dear his face was a picture...something along the lines of not in my lifetime and over my dead body type thing.

He writes her ever so pretty notes, its kind of cute...joe still doesnt see the funny side of it.

Now tonight, just after wed phoned her, as shes away til tomorrow wooohoo.  Id put isla to bed, and the next thing is the doorbell goes.  So opened up the door and there are a couple of girls standing there....its approx half 6 at this point.  They asked if Sasha lived here, i said yes, they asked if she was allowed out to play...but I told them that shes away til tomorrow and should be back about 2ish if they want to call for her then.  Off they went.

So thinking about it.  I know normally shes in her jammies by 6 and in bed by half 6.  Im going to have to bite the bullet and give her more freedom than she has had.  Will have a chat with her about it tomorrow when shes home.  If she knows where her watch is, and tells me where shes going to be...then ill let her out to play with her mates of an evening...well...til 7 anyway.  Break the rules, and shes had it.

Thing is though, shes only had isla to play with since we moved up here, and although they are good together, sharing a room is hard on her, so methinks its tme to let her spread her wings (a little bit) and give her some freedom away from her sister.

aww bless her sounds all so sweet, steph i know it must be hard but you are gonna have to let her own space and have some freedom (well only a little bit lol), easier said than done i know as i dread the day with molly but i know that day will come, they grow up so quickly - it will do her really well to go and mix with some friends and like you say if the rules are broke then end of, I'm sure she will be completely fine and be as good as gold - Joe sounds abit like Carl (well all men really lol) they just cant get there head round there little girls are growing up even more so boyfriends Grrrr Carl said Mollys never gonna bring a lad home,my dad was exact same with me growing upto makes me chuckle hehe jue xx

Awwww steph they grow up so fast..... I'd start off with like you but i'd give her 30mins then report back that all is ok then she can go off again for another 30 just till you both get to know the area and the kids.

How old is Tasja now? My eldest is 6 going on 17 and he keeps trying to get time out but since we've moved to a hamlet there isn't any other kids here which i feel bad for but his friends and their mum's are great they understand why we moved and they come over to play and vice versa..... ok i normally only have one at a time all i can cope with lol.

Good luck letting go..... building up trust is hard but good luck x

As for the boyfriend, invite him for tea let them have fun but not upstairs or behind shut doors!! When should you talk to them about contraception??

Erm... I remember quite vividly her mother going through exactly the same situation with boys...

As for the freedom thing have you had a chat with Tasha about it?  What are her feelings on being given more responsibility?

Crikey, where does the time go?  Before you know it she'll be a teenager and that's when the fun really starts.

Yeah but...I HAD TO GO OUT WITH WADE COS YOU DIDNT WANT TO GO OUT WITH MATTHEW BY YOURSELF!

That and it was a cunning plan for us to become sisters lol.

Sashas home in about half hour, so once shes all settled in well have a chat etc.

Cant believe shes 9, shes kind of grown up lots in the last year, the pair of them have, and one way and another ive kind of missed it if that makes sense.

Think joe is off to b&q later on for some bars to go on the window and to see if they sell pressure sensors for under the bedroom floor.

I suggested the one foot on the floor rule...but as joe pointed out to me...it didnt stop me lol

LOL....its an old RAF rule...if you were entertaining a member of the opposite sex in your room, you had to keep one foot on the floor at all times...cos apparently you cant do anything keeping one foot on the floor lol.

I've managed to do loads of things with BOTH feet on the floor lol!!!

Gosh, how grown up is she now! I'm sure things will go well if she's given a little more freedom, she's a sensible girl. Just try to check out the girls she's hanging out with, make sure they're sensible too! I know thatsa hard when you're new to the area and don't know many people. I think its up to you, and her, to decide on a time to come in. As for the boyfriend, aww! Bless! How cute is young 'love'! I'm sure Joe'll get used to it lol! Anyway he's away next so what he doesn't know won't hurt him lol!!!
