We've had an oprdinary potty from when the giorls were 1, just to get them used to it. They have never sat on it without their nappy, without a big fuss (they've always said they are scared of it)
Last week my friend lent me her potty and raved about how great it was. Its called a royal potty and makes a noise when they do something in it. Anyway, when I bought it home, Ashleigh wanted her nappy off straight away and after sitting on it for about 15 minutes did a wee in it. We were so proud of her and promised her a treat, made a big fuss of her etc. She then did it again the next day (she said she did it so she could have a chocolate cake!)
So the following day we went and chose some pretty pants together and she was keen to wear them and kept telling us how she was a big girl now. Well, we got through 4 pairs in less than an hour and I was asking her every 5 minutes if she needed to use the potty and she kept saying no. We gave up in the end and by this time, she was fed up of it to and was quite happy to have her nappy back on.
She now will sit on it but pretends she's done something when she hasn't and refuses to wear her pants and says she doesn't want to be a big girl.
Any ideas? They will be 3 in September. Lauren has no interest in using the potty at all
