Wow just read how much this 2 day strike could affect Scotland and Northern England, a whole month without fuel, because of the safety procedures and time involved with plant shut down and start up.

I know encouraging panic buying is irresponsible but with so many Scottish members, at least Stock Up on essentials.

I agree Lynie  its not fair i it?  We are going up to the Lakes for our holidays, hiring a car, bet the cost of the fuel will take a canny chunk of our spends.

Mind you, with fuel rising steadily, I wouldnt be suprised.

I remember the last time there were fuel shortages. It was October
2000. I remember so well because my wee boy (6 months then) was in
hospital with hooping cough. I had to stay in with him because I was
breastfeeding. My husband and other family members had to car share
to come to visit. Alan even walked over for afternoon visiting ( the
hospital was nearer my home then) to save on fuel. Oh, I just can't be
bothered with all that sort of nonsense again! I hope it doesn't turn out
to be too bad. ( Can you tell I live in Scotland!)

Panic buying has already started in Kilmarnock. Dh has just got back from his mums and said there was a tailback along the road at Asda with people waiting to buy fuel. He then thought he had better fill the car up as I had already been to Glasgow today and need it for work so he was just as bad as everyone else.

Hope this doesn't get any worse as I hate not having my car and not being able to get anywhere.
