I think I am almost organised with this party (less than 2 weeks to go lol). Im hoping I have bought everything except all the fresh food which will have to wait till the day before. I just know something is going to go wrong, or I'll forget something lol Is there any other food I should add to this list... there is going to be alot going on and I cant image they will want to sit down for long lol so I've tried to keep it simple.

  • Ham sandwiches
  • Cheese sandwiches
  • Sausage rolls
  • Cocktail sausages
  • Cheese & pineapple sticks
  • Biscuits
  • Fairy cakes
  • Grapes
  • Jelly x 2 flavours
  • Trifle

Ive also got the loot bags to fill. There is going to be 25 children so Ive tried to keep the cost down lol Ive just put in,

  • Whistles
  • Stencil sets
  • balloons
  • sweets
  • birthday cake

Do I need to get anything else for either list? I feel way to organised. Oh Ive done 3 pass the parcels as well, is that enough? Im hoping for nice weather as Ive hired a bouncey castle and cant see them wanting to play party games lol Even if its wet the bouncey castle is coming indoors so they'll still have that lol Cant wait for this to be over lol

Oh another thought, should I do some 'grown up' food? lol I dont know how many grown ups will be there. I could do some pasta, or savoury rice? Should I do posher sandwiches for them, maybe on baps or submarine rolls with salmon or something as a filling (the kids are just going on bread lol). Should I do salad? I know most of the kids wont really eat it, Joshua loves salad but even he doesnt eat it at parties.. oh and coleslaw?

What you've got listed there sounds like plenty to me.
I'm sure the adults will probably just have a pick at what's left over after the kids have had their bit, but its up to you weather to do something specifically for them, seems like too much bother for me as theres always so much left over after partys that your having it the next day so not to waste food.
lololol
Have you got the drinks sorted out?
You could always add crisps, pizza slices, chicken drumsticks, quiche(sp), bread sticks/celery and dips.
I could go on, but those are just a few extra ideas.

What about cucumber slices and cherry toms?  Mine love munching on these.

As for everything else sounds like your sorted.  I'm dreading birthday parties next year as the boys only have a fortnight between their birthdaysand they will both want one.

I wouldnt bother doing food for the adults as its a kids party, anyway the adults will most porberbly enjoy eating what the kids have.

lol hun don't ask me! I've just finished my lo's party and theirs a little bit left but not a lot! lol

Madz came over and omg! I was worrying i didn't have enough food and i had covered 2 tables and still wanted to make sandwhiches but went down the finger food route!

Iceland is my new best friend as i got lots for a very small price.

duck, vegatable and sweet chilli pancakes, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, topped french bread, mini pizza's, vegetable and quiche lorraine, chicken dippers, bread sticks, cheese board, party rings, jammie dogers, tea cakes, selection of cakes, nibbles: mini cheese savouries, nachoes, ginger bread men..... and more!!

I think if you know what you want to serve go for it! just do nibblies as i've never known a kids sit down meal to work yet! (well not till they're 6!)

Edited to add: due to the weather being a big factor and me with no real idea who was coming lack of rsvp's till last min etc i got a few party bag toys, and made out of an old bin a lucky dip pot and got the kids to take a lucky dip on a party toy and a box of mini smarties and that was their lot!

I only ever organised one complete party myself for Kirstins 3rd birthday and after that I am afraid parties were held at a local leisure centre who did the catering or Macdonalds.

I was so stressed out I didn't enjoy myself. I had a table full of food for the adults. pizza, salad , quiche etc to nibble on and the children all sat down around a large table in our kitchen. Lots of the adults didn't stay so that food was ruined.

Remember to check if any children have allergies etc. I know some bring their own food if they have. I know this was the case with one of the girls at this party. Also I made a contact list so I knew where I could contact the parents if any problems arose during the party. Once at Macdonalds one of Kirstins friends had an asthma attack and we needed to contact her parents in a hurry.
