Wen to see my pain clinic consultant today. Have to say is so great to be able to talk to someone who understands when I say I hurt, but can't pinpoint the spot, or that got no mobility today, but yesterday I did the ironing.

She had never heard of prolotherapy, so she is going to talk to others, find out about itand get info before coming back to me. One thing she warned me on is that even if a possible treatment for me, unless is offered in south/mid wales, then no chance. She said I won't be able to get refered to Cambridge. Darn it, I would cope with travel and pain if offered a relief, even if temporary.

Sometimes trying to explain that even when smiling I'm in pain is impossible. People think I'm just being drama queen. She knows just how it feels, and how chronic pain sufferers cope. She isn't refering me to pain management yet, as agrees to see if prolo worthwhile. Pain management clinic is basically my last call, when have no more options left.

I'm so lucky to be in this area. Having a teaching hospital means that the specialists are always willing to learn and try new things.

Keep your fingers crossed it works out.

Thats a great start that she is willing to try for you.

When I first saw my pain consultant I cried. I had finally met someone who understood the pain I was in, believed everything I told him and didnt think I was exaggerating, gave me answers as to why it had happened and what might come next. It gave me new hope.

I will keep everything crossed for you that they can offer prolotherapy or similar where you are.

I am so glad i stumbled upon this site, i have had spd since i was 11 weeks pregnant, milly is 3 now, I had the mirena coil fitted which did help slighty for a while, but it is getting steadily worse. I have been in agony now for days been up at daft times through the night in pain, i was told by one doc that it wasn't spd, the same doc told me it was in my head. Finally saw a doc that had sufferred with it herself and she has reffered me to pain management, but not quite sure what this involves an not sure how long i can keep working for, just sick of being in pain
