Good day mums!  Kaitlyn is almost 15 months now and im starting to feel that i need to start trying again for my second. How far apart are the los and what do you recommend? Ive had to clear up multiple infections and sex still hurts sorry tmi..other than this, i think as kaitlyn grows older, it will only get harder. Am i right?

Hi Lina

I've got my girls, who are coming up for 12 and 14. There are 23 months between them - and I found that a good age gap. I had hoped for at least two years between them, and was lucky to fall pg straight away again. They've been good company for each other, they get on..most of the time! lol

Saying that, a larger age gap is good too - for differed reasons. Cameron is nearly 5 - Becca was almost 9 when he was born, and Ruthie 7 - and they were a great help, and they have absolutely spoiled Cameron rotten......he just adores them!

So, my 3 will be 5, 12 and 14 when this new baby arrives - a different age gap again between them all. I'm hoping everything will be fine - the girls are so excited and Cameron spends all his time kissing my tummy and talking to his wee brother.

I don't think there is a 'perfect' age gap - I suppose everyone has their own idea of what's right for them and their family. Good luck when you decide to ttc.

xxx

Hi Lina,

It's completely up to you, as and when you feel physically and emotionaly ready to have another lo.
Betwen my 1st and 2nd son and daughter, there is only 11 months between them, another year between my 3rd and 2 years between my 4th.
So now they are 8, 7, 6 and 4 and im glad that i had them all so close in age gap personally.
So if you feel the time is right, then go for it.

As has been said its entirely up to you to decide

Small age gaps have their pros and cons as do large age gaps!

There are 4 years between my 2 girls and its perfect for us - I couldn't have coped with any smaller gap I don't think but thats just me.

Theres no right or wrong time so if you feel ready to start trying then go for it chick

Totally personnal choice and no-one can tell you the right or wrong time to have another lil one.

I have 11 years and 10 days between my girls as I was a single Mum to the oldest until she was 7. It was very hard going back to having a helpless baby in the house after so long.

There is a more traditional gap of 2 and 1/2 years between the middle and youngest two. This was hard at first with lack of sleep and having to deal with a toddler, but i got there. They fight almost all the time, but they do stick together.

thanks ladies for the comments back..ive talked to alot of other mums and they all say the same...i think i feel just like the begginning, still scared to be pregnant overall ,which is holding me back. I did get on fine and i should just not be scared.  Im currently not on birth control for 2 months i think and im not necessarily trying but not holding back, so maybe we'll have another bundle of joy to come or maybe not. (but between us, I think im ready ladies!)

Awww Lina, a little play friend for Kaitlyn sounds great! As everyone said there is no right or wrong age gap, just when you feel ready. Personally I didnt want a tiny age gap, but I have also said that if I am not pregnant by time Joshua is 6 (which isn't going to happen lol) but then thats it I dont want to start all over again. There is 10 months between me and my little sister (I obviously was a good baby and sleeper hehe), and we get on ok better now than when we were little. Then there is 3 years between me and my older sister and I used to always want to be around her, then 6 years between me and my brother and I idolised him lol There was a good range between us all, and we all got on together really.

Good luck babe!
