 HELP!

I have no idea what is wrong with me lately. Just over 5 weeks ago I was asked by my endocrine doctor (hormone specialist) to come of all my PCOS medication. This was so that he could perform hormone tests, and they be accurate as I wouldn't have any medication in my system. These tests are due to be carried out in 1-3 weeks now (He said 6-8 weeks from stopping the medication).

About 2 weeks after stopping my medication I was grumpy, and teary all at the same time. I tried to ignore it, its been a busy time with heaps going on in my personal and work life. Thats all since been sorted. My PCOS related pains are not bad, uncomfortable at times but certainly not as bad as they were before Christmas. All in all everything should be fine, Ive even managed to be intimate without any after pains or discomfort (this has been impossible for the last 9 months if not more).

However, even though everything should be feeling good I am still on a roller coster of emotions, mostly negative ones. Im either weepy or Im grumpy. I know things have got bad because Im not eating properly either. The thought of food makes me feel nausious and most foods dont stay put when I do eat them, and Im far too tired to eat. For the last week I have done nothing but sleep. Its not normal tiredness I feel absolutely exhausted, yet I haven't done a great deal. Im assuming (and hoping) its all just because I am off my medication, but I dont know how I can control it. I cant take any medication at all for the next up to 3 weeks, so there is no point talking to my GP. The endocrine unit are supposed to be pushing through my appointment so it is nearer the 6 week mark not 8 weeks, but that still means I have a week at least to go.

I just hate feeling this way! Sorry to moan. I thought when the PCOS medication had the pain at bay my biggest problems were over, it just feels like Im taking 2 steps forward, and 3 back atm.

Awww sweetie, xxx. You poor love.

Is it everything that you eat or just certain things ? I was just thinking maybe you could try some chunky soup or scrambled eggs ?

I'm not an expert but it does seem like things are getting on top of you a bit and where I am right now, I wouldn't like to say it sounds like depression as there are so many different kinds of it.

Don't say sorry hun, we just want you to be ok, xx.

Its different foods, and just because one day it makes me sick, doesn't mean the next day it will. Weird I know. Like grapes, the other day the very thought of eating them (I usually snack on them) just made my tummy churn but today it was the taste of apple that had me queezy and having a few grapes was ok.

Ive been for a walk since posting, and feel a little better. I got myself a bit upset posting. I decided to walk to collect Joshua, and went for a walk round the straits and castle, let Joshua see the boats. It was refreshing.

I rang the hospital about my appointment, and she said that she wouldnt know if I am next weeks list until Tuesday (clinic is Thursday and Friday) I said that short notice was ridiculous, but she said it was proceedure. I can ring back Tuesday afternoon and she should be able to give me more information, but if Im not on next weeks list I'll have to ring back Thursday or Friday to talk to the nurse, which is what I did today at their request last week and Ive been told the nurse is in clinic so I cant speak with her. Argh! *breathe lol*

Awwww hugs hunny, you certainly are having a time of it.

I think then nhs system is crazy i got a letter recently asking me to go for an appointment on monday, received the letter saturday! Oh and at school run time too!

It's a pain when you have to keep hounding them to get answers..... As for being an emotional mess.... you might feel like it and i can understand the frustration and waiting on them.

I really hope that they sort out your appointment quickly as if they give a time frame i really wish they'd stick to it. Do they know you've got little appetite and are struggling to keep it down? Who have you spoken to each time? Would the consultants secratary be able to help more than the clnic?

You need to off load hun, poems, writing it down, sharing etc. Please know i am here for you.... hugs x

Ive been speaking to the secretary. They are being nice, and it is their proceedure (allbeit a rubbish one lol). They did say they would see about making sure its on the right side of 6-8 weeks.. but then Im sure they say that to all high rate emotional patients lol.. It is the hormone clinic after all poor things must get some really hormonal people lol Im ok when Im not in a grumpy or teary mood lol Think Im going to get Joshua to bed later and have a really hot bath and then sit in front of the TV and do nothing else lol.. I got last nights Heroes to watch later and Im sure they'll be some other TV trash on hehe A very self indulgent night is on the cards me thinks lol

The obvious explanation for you feeling like this would be stopping your medication and lack of food intake.
Would you be put staight back on it again once you have had your hormone tests?
I'd deffinatley mention your lack of appitite to your constultant Chris, not getting all the right nutrients your body needs to function properly, will make you feel lethargic and tired.
Have you been eating less just since you stopped taking your med's or has it been going on for a while?
I hope they can get you seen and sorted sooner rather than later.. hospitals proceedures and policies ey, who ever thinks them up needs sacking lololol
Enjoy your bath, and have a good old slob infront of the T.V!

I am sorry you are feeling this way and I know how it is as I had to do this 10 years ago.

When I asked  the consultant about these feelings and after all the teste were performed it came out that basically with out medications my hormones were imitating the symptoms of pregnancy. Maybe this could be the case with you. I was DEFINATELY not pregnant but my body went into overdrive once it  was left to its own devices.

Basically off medications my egg was being released (thanks to meds) but was caught in the lining this sending the wrong messages  to all over my body.

No other advise but eat small amounts often.

Take Care and no this will get sorted

Good Luckx
