Come on Martha, you cant keep it a secret from us.. thats just mean lol are you having a little pink or a blue?? I only remember being told a weight with Shannon at around 30 weeks, they said she would be a big baby, but was an average 7lb 12oz's. I wouldn't worry about it, as long as its healthy thats all that matters. P.s - its not very nice having to call your baby an 'it' you see, so you just have to tell us so we can address him/her properly!!! x-x-x

Hi Martha,
I had a 'borderline big baby' (Max) and a big baby (Tom). One downside to having a borderline big baby is that some midwives worry about complications at birth. I'd found this out when I enquired about a homebirth for my second baby and was told I couldn't have one.
Tom weighed in at 9lb 6oz, the heaviest out of both my boys but the easiest birth by far.
Mind you he took 2 hours longer to come out (unusual for the second birth to take longer) .
But no tears so no stitches - hope this reassures you in some small way.

Well I must be the only one who has had the opposite advice in weights.
With my son Matthew I was told he was approx a tiny 5 1/2 lbs the day
they started inducing me (it took 3 days!). Well he was 7lbs 10 when he
was born - I was well shocked. These scans and even the midwives
estimates are really quite hit and miss- so don't worry!
