Hi all
I'm sorry but i'm having a proud mummy moment and wanted to share it with you all.
My eldest son kieran joined a football team feb this year and has been training alternative weekends due to contact with his dad being in place etc. He's always been scared of a ball coming at him and the thought of him making a tackle gets him worrying about getting hurt (i'm sure i didn't use that much cotton wool!) any way today he's played in his first proper match and it was an away game against a local village.
They are still very much learning the rules and where they can and can't go etc, but kieran has gone from being this shy tearful boy to starting to tackle and get in there...... he tends to play mid field or defense and it's good to see..... he's set up his friends for a goal or 2 but it's never made it though. His team lost (7-0) but they did well considering this team normally wins all it's matches 15-0 plus! The bluntisham blasters is the team kieran belongs to which has been up until kieran join was very small 5/6 players max but since canvasing kieran's school they now have enough kids to have 2 teams for the 2 coaches etc and that'll mean they can have club friendlies for training etc. and more matches with other teams in the county. So hopefully it'll make training and matchs easier to learn as they'll have the hands on practice experience that they need.
So proud of my young man for getting up there and having a go, tackling etc
Here he is before kick off in his team's kit!! So proud! Go Kieran!!
