After thinking about all the possibilities, it does look like I'll need to go back to work to make ends meet.  Hubby has been self employed and the money flow has been erratic, so because I have a really steady job I've thought long and hard and decided to go back.  If you read my post about nursery places you'll know that getting paid not an option as we can't afford double the fees for the twins not to mention Emilie, so hubby will stay at home on the days I'll work.

I think it will be good for him- he'll have the time with the kids and babies he's missed and he'll see the full work involved in running the house!  Although in saying that he'll probably get loads of help as people feel sorry for the poor men left with the kids and don't think twice when poor mum is there struggling along!  Well, that's my experience anyway!

Awww lynie, that must have been a hard and difficult desicion to come too, trying to choose and cover the bases must be really hard, i'm glad you and your dp have managed to come to a comprimise and a situation in which you are both happy that all sides of family life will covered.

Good luck going back, and good luck to your hubby, i'd recommend he gets his own username and if he's stuck he can always post on here! lol

Good luck and i'm sure the kids will benefit from having this shared parenting system.... special time with mum and dad cool.... (but i would still be suprised if he looked after the kids and managed the washing etc.... my dp when he has the kids just does the bare minimum!)

Hugs and love to all your family hun xxx

Hey Lynie

I know this was a hard decision for you but you are such a good teacher and seem to really enjoy your job so that must be a benefit.

Thats great that you have worked it out for hubs to share the childcare - at least you wont have the extra worry of how they are settling etc

I know what you mean about people helping men - if Dunc is away for a weekend or something noone offers to come stay with me but if I go away loads of folk are round asking if he needs anything . Ah men!!!

Good Luck when it comes to going back

xxx

That'll be great for the lo's - least amount of upset to the family - hopefully make your return to work as smooth as possible for you all. Lucky you having a dh that can cope - there's no way on this earth my dh could stay at home with the kids - they'd all murder each other!lol

Good luck when the time comes!

xxx

I know it's hard. Everything is going up so much but our wages are staying the same. My hubby is self employed . It can get very hard so i can totally relate to how you are feeling..

Good luck, Lynie, I know it wasn't an easy decision to make.

Oh, and you've got to take a pic of hubby dressed in a pinny, flicking a feather duster around.

Seriously though, I hope it works out for you.

I went to see my head teacher today.  She's letting me take the holidays I'm due in June; which means I don't need to return to work until the new autumn term.  It's great because that means I'll be paid from June and through the holidays even though I'm not physically in work.
Phew!
