I have said to tsena that I am going to get cards made up and laminated explaining spd - as I get so fed up of explaining it to everyone - and that goes for the medical profession as well! Most just dont know what they are dealing with. I am lucky that the GPs at my surgery are sympathetic and do understand. They are all used to me now.

I managed to make it til 36 weeks before I was hospitalised with the pain. In the end my midwife got fed up of me being fobbed off and ordered the ward to admit me and treat me with pain meds. I was on morphine and I had the section because it was affecting my babies heartbeat. I was told he'd be born floppy but I was lucky and he was fine - just sleepy.

I have recently made the decision to not have more children and the thought still chokes me up. But it would be so unfair on my son and I would probably be put in a wheelchair, maybe for life, it just isnt worth that risk.

No one can understand chronic pain until they have lived through it - there is a post here which covers it well! But you will get through. I have made it my mission to fight this every step of the way and trust me it is not easy, but I am getting there hun - and you will too.

Keep pushing at the doctors and ignore the people who think you are making it up.

Out of interest have you been refered to orthopedics for x rays or similar?

Hi hun

Sorry to hear your having a pants few days.... how are you this morning?

I had an older child too and used a mobility scooter when ever out and about, and crutches.... (i was greatful my eldest was going on 4). I was refused a c-section and i too couldn't bear being away from my eldest (easter time). It's never easy being a mum and facing the everyday hic cups, it's even harder for people with chronic pain. We can do it though we just have to be a tad bit more creative.

Keep plodding hun x

hi, i've just come back from gp app,  he has upped my amitryptiline to 100-150mg, and advised that the next step would be gabapentin, i have been referred to orthopeadics i think, anyway i getting a belt to ease pressure, i have also been referred to pain management and muscular and skeletal clinic, i have mentioned about crutches but they seem reluctant in case i become reliant on them. I don't feel as bad as i did yesterday tho, last nite i was near to tears.

Don't know whether it's down to you guys but i feel like i have had more succes this morning than i have had since i was pregnant, think you have give me the confidence to be firm

thanks guys

I'm glad you have some stronger meds and some referals in place.

Dont thank us - its what we are here for.

Just keep fighting! Well done for standing up to the GP and asking for the help you need.

Knowing your not imagining it is the best thing since sliced bread in my opinion and knowing that others are out there too does give you the strenght to fight it.

Keep going hun your doing fab!
