Well done. you have done the hard bit.

i have been taking medication for 3 weeks now and already i am beginning to feel more positive about things.
My GP says i have a mild form of PND.
I felt i had no confidence, a mess, tired all the time, short tempered and had no life about me at all. I felt as though i was living on a conveyor belt. I also had a traumatic time when thomas was born (he was undiagnosed breech and came out bum 1st) and the doctor said that coud have more effect on me than i realise.
i couldn't talk to anyone, not even DH, i only told him on holiday that i couldn't cope any more. i thought a holiday would help but it didn't, i probably felt worse whn i came back to the reality of everyday life.

i was worried about the stigma that goes with PND - your branded as being depressed, people think you can't cope and you are taking drugs to make you feel better. But i now realise that PND is very common and as my GP said "who said having a baby was easy ?"

I am using prozac, the GP said there are side effects (none of which i have had) he also said that you come off the tablets gradually and they are not addictive in any way.

like i say, i think you have done the hard bit by going to the doctor.

feel free to mail me if you ever want to chat.

lots a luv
