I'm still waiting to hear when Max will start Reception this year.  I've been told that they have a staggered in-take, but no formal date has been set.

I've managed to find a decent childminder to pick Max up from school and it would be nice to let her know.  Also, we need the dates in order to sign the contract.  I would like to sign this contract asap as it's been a real struggle finding a good childminder and I'm fed up looking!

I've spoken to the School Administration office who ensure me that the dates should be sorted soon.  They were quite sympathetic saying that really parents should know by now because of the childcare issues, but I had to bite my tongue and resist asking why was it taking so long to notify us.

Is anyone else still waiting to hear about dates?  I was wondering if this was normal.

I wouldnt have thought any dates were formally arranged till after half term, but then Ive never been in that situation. Joshua's school is a small school so they all started together. One thing I will say is learn from this! The amount of times I get no warning about school closures or changes is unbelieveable. Its been my experience that teacher - parent liasons have never been great when it comes to details and planning lol

We've had our letter to say Louis has been accepted at school and he will start at the end of sept, as the elder ones start first.  We dont get a visit by the head but we have to go to the school for a meeting in July with the head whilst they go through the curriculum, school meals, the golden rules etc... they see about 10 parents at the same time, so its really informal.

I'd imagine you would hear soon, we got our letter last week so i'm sure you'd hear before the end of june?
