Hi all with summer fast approaching I was after some advice….

I’m not much of a sun worshiper and I hate having lily white legs or if I do catch the sun I go lobster…. So I’ve been thinking about fake tans but struggled the last time I tried with not getting very brown knees and pale legs!

Which are the best sorts out there now and are there any application hints or tips anyone’s found?

Thanks in advance all x

Hello!!

I am with ya on the pale legs! It's scary! I like the Johnsons Holiday Skin, it makes my legs soft and gradually builds a tan up. The only tip i have is use gloves to apply it or else you will get the tell tale brown palms and inbetween fingers lol!

If anyone has any other recommendations for pregnant women and fake tan, i am interested!!

What have you tried before Tsena?

I think the best tip i have is to mositurised for a few days first so you skin inst overly dry espically knees and ankles as its the dry skin that absorbs it too much and gloves are a must, also go for a lighter shade and keep building up hth

I use the Johnson holiday skin and it works for me but my sd uses the boots own brand spray and it takes time to build up but looks more natural than mine and not to bad on the knees or ankles either.

I like the johnsons holiday skin but it can still go streaky.

Boots do a body moisturiser called No7 naturally sunkissed which is good, its the same idea as johnsons holiday skin but i think it goes on so much better.

Im not sure how much it costs or anything as i got it as part of a christmas set and have only recently started using it as i cant go under my sunbed now x

I have Dove moisteriser with tanning lotion, its lovely on the arms but always streaky on the legs. Ive not needed it this year though woohoooo

Everyone at works swears by the spray on tan that is about £15 and new out in the shops this summer. Cant remember who's it is though sorry (yellow bottle I think rofl)

Oh and exfoliating first helps I do believe! If its knees and ankles thats the problem, apply the creams to your legs rub it in then just wipe your hands round your ankles and kness and blend in, dont apply cream there just whats already on your hands and legs blend it together hth

Definitely exfoliate first especially around knees/elbows etc

I use Sublime Bronze by L'Oreal and its really good - also the Fake Bake one is good too but can be quite dark

I like the Holiday skin one too but was put off by the smell of it but noticed they have improved it now so might try it again

I have to admit I hate doing it myself and tend to go for a spray tan at a salon if I have a big event etc - but there are loads of good ones out there that are really good now

Moisturising and exfoliating are the key though

I've been using the Holiday Skin one recently, and its been ok. A bit streaky if I don't put it on carefully enough. I try and exfoliate in the shower with one of those exfoliating gloves and then apply it after I'm dry. I've only done my legs though.
