hello all, tomorrow I am having my mirena coil out, I had it put in to help with spd and regulate my bleeding, however I can not control my mood swings I'm either crying or hysterical. I was watching this morning yesterday and flava were on doing their dance routine and i couldn't stop bawling. Don't know why I'm just emotional . Anyway i had the coil put in with general anaesthetic as i nearly passed out when they first tried, was wondering if anyone has had one taken out and how painful is it going to be because i really don't think I am going to sleep tonight

My experience is some what different. Firstly I dont, and didnt have SPD and secondly, my coil rejected rather than being taken out. I had mine fitted, and after the worst pain ever in my life at the time I was rushed back to the doctors only to find my uterus was contracting to remove the coil. The doctors took it out, but I felt nothing. Im not sure if thats because I was in so much pain, or if it just didnt hurt. I didnt feel a thing when it was fitted. I hope it all goes well. As Tsena said, maybe request some pain relief to hand just in case.

Awww I just realised how not nice my post sounded. Im sorry, I didnt mean to make it sound like that. Really I felt no pain having it fitted, and having it out I felt no different. I had pain, because of the rejection of the coil, but nothing extra when it was removed. If you can cope with the little clampy thing, then the coil shouldn't hurt del. Easier said than done, but best way is to relax for it. Hope it goes well, and make sure you take your pain killers before hand!
