hi,im not sure why but emily is scared of the toilet,she went on it all the time she has a toilet seat with animals on that fits on ourseat.this week she seems really scared so i have not pushed her i have taken her with me and she holds my hand saying"dont fall mummy i hold ur hand"

what should i do ? xxxx emma xxxx

Has she had a little slip whilst sat on it? Not enough that you thought it significant at the time, but enough to have scared her? Maybe just offering her loads of reassurance. Let her come to the toilet with you and say look its really safe. Mummy isnt falling in. Offer to hold her hand to try it. Maybe get her a new seat, tell her this one is much better and will make sure she never falls in. Just enough to get her to use the toilet again and regain her confidence.

Hope this is just a minor set back. xxxxx

Just keep reassuring her. Sophie went through a funny stage when the ad for Harpic came out with the toilet monsters on it. She was terrified of the loo for days, but she got over it after I told her that the monsters were too big to come up our toilet and every flush sent them further away.
