I went to see my GP yesterday and broke down into tears as I explained how I've been feeling. She was so understanding and said its no suprise with the year I have had so far that I am feeling this way. She just couldnt believe I'd got through the past 3 years without needing them.

Shes starting me on 50mg of sertraline and I'm to go back in a few weeks to have it put up if needed - with my history its very likely I will need a much higher dose and probably a referal to the mental health team. But I am on the road to recovery so I am trying to bmore positive.

She also complimented me on Edward (who had to come with me) on his manners, politeness, and behaviour. He was an angel although I felt bad when he gave me a cuddle and asked if I was ok when I was crying.

So I have made the first step to feeling better.

Well done to you for making that first step, it is the hardest one by far!

I know how depression affects general ability to function day to day and i totally feel for you! If you need to see the mental health team, then go for it! They helped me no end! I hope the anti depressants will kick in soon for you with no unwanted side effects!

Always here if you need to chat hun, take care!

xxxx

You did really well hunny it's so easy now days to give the phrase i'm ok ta, instead of having to face the truth and the reality of how we are feeling.

I'm really proud of you as i know you've been wrestling with the feelings of uselessness etc.

Eds really is a star and you should be proud hunny.

Well done to you both x

Bless Edward, they always know the right time to give cuddles.
