I know this is going to sound really silly, but is there anyway to toughen up my feet ? I'm fine wearing any kind of shoe with socks on, but when it's a lovely day and I go bare foot, I always end up with terrible blisters. Any advice apart from spending all Summer in socks and trainers ?

How about trying to keep them well moisturised? This would keep the soft and supple instead of being hard and prone to blisters and cracked skin. Also get well fitted, and soft open shoes. Some cheaper flip flops/sandals are made with really tough plastic or rough material which rub the skin. Make sure they fit around the foot, with room for your feet to swell in the heat. I have slightly wide feet, and find summer shoes are very slim fitting so I have to really shop around for suitable shoes.

Your feet are really important, and you should look after them are well proper fitted shoes. You can feet creams from anywhere really, and little foot sets. Pamper your feet and make the skin nice and supple, they'll hopefully not let you down over the summer then.

Just re-read what you put there. By bare foot you dont mean nothing on your feet do you? Outside? Ach woman! lol Get some well fitted open toe sandals lol

Trudi has those Crocs things. I thought they looked really heavy and frumpy in shops, but I tried hers and they were just like foam! I can imagine those being really comfy!

Unfortunately not.

If you get genuine ones they really are worth it, I've a couple of pairs and Sam I think has 3 at the last count, including the mammoth one for the winter. I live in them, quite often forget I have them on, in fact I have actually managed to just about wear one pair out on the soles

I have just got a pair of crocs, dh bought me some of the frumpy ones, i said i coudn't wear them, anyway we took them back and oh my god they have some gorgeoud styles, the even have wedge sandles. I got a pair of shoes called prima and the just look like ballet sandals. Have a look at the web site first then find a genuine croc shop, you'll be surprised.

Also avon have some nice creams for foot care

take care x x

White spirit does work I have heard a lot of people use that.  Soak your feet well in warm water, moisturise, what you don't want to happen is for the skin to go hard on the heals because then it cracks and really hurts.  Go in bare feet at home that will help.  Crocs are good, I do have 3 pairs I got them mostly for in the garden, in the caravan and just loafing about at home.  I don't like slippers so ware my mammoth crocs instead of slippers they have a wooly lining that is machine washable.
