Joshua keeps biting his nails. I have tried asking him to stop but he doesn't. I have always bitten my nails and I really dont want him to grow up doing it, and want to try nip it in the bud while I can. The nasty tasting varnish and similar products all say from age 8years (well the ones I have seen), and Joshua is only 5years. I dont think he is doing it on purpose, he does it whilst watching tv or playing. Ive tried explaining to him that it would make his fingers poorly, and I have shown him the poor condition of my nails. I have also tried not biting my own nails, but after 20 years thats not an easy task either. Have you ladies got any ideas how I might be able to stop him? I bought him a baby nail clippers set, and a really soft file but he is petrified of the clippers and although he used the file he still bites his nail. I'm not sure what else to try?

Sorry, I've no idea.
None of us have ever bitten our nails, so apart from trying to keep his nails as short as possible, im not much help.
I hope you can find a solution for him soon.
