Hey All!

Well we had a fantastic surprise yesterdayI went onto our online banking to check the finances and found we had grand more than we were expecting to have! I checked the statemnt to see where it had come from and it was made up of 5 various payments from tax credits. Having heard so many horror stories about the tax credit lot overpaying folks by mistake I decided to ring them and get them to double check everything before I got too excited. Anyway after 15 minutes in a telephone queue the guy at TC office double checked all our renewal details with us and confirmed that it was all correct Apparently DH's change in job means our CTC/WFTC should have gone up in April plus they underpaid DH his WFTC all last year. Not only do we get this one big payment, but our combined tax credits have gone up by forty quid a week which is great! We've been scrimping and scraping for months to save up for when we go on our hols on Friday, but now we can relax!  We've also been accepted onto the local authority housing register so we've recently been applying for some bigger houses too, so we're gonna now be able to put a few hundred quid away in reserve for new carpets etc when we finally move

Our finances usually suck, but this little bit of luck has definitely perked us all up!

Nice one babe! That happened to me 2 years ago when I changed jobs. They over calculated my earnings and I got a nice bonus in the summer. Then last year I owed them 18p lol which they took back in one lump sum (seriously they wrote to me to tell me they were taking the repayment in a lump sium lol) and this year its been calculated and its spot on! A nice bonus would be much appreciated hehe but at least I dont owe them anything hehe

That's great news! Glad to hear of someone actually getting a positive result from the Tax Credits! Enjoy your hols!

Nice one, I love it when they rearrange it all!  I'm hoping for a bit extra in the next couple of months just need to get the details from the accountant, unluckily (or luckily) the farm hasn't done as well as dh hoped this year!
