about being pregnant !!!

As you all know, i was devasted about being pregnant but i think at 16.5 weeks gone, i have turned the corner and can actually smile about it !!! It's been a long 10 weeks getting used to it :)

I was at the doctors today for my 16 weeks appointment and everything is fine and i got to listen to the baby's heartbeat for the first time which was more exciting than the scan in my book. It was a very strong regular heartbeat at 158 so im happy at that xx

Awww hunny thats good news.... it does take a while for it all to sink in expecially with the hormones, sickness etc.

I agree i used to love listening to my lo's heartbeat and it was the one thing that kept me going....i just wish i'd gotten a recording of it on my phone to keep.... but i'm sad like that.

Just wait till your wee bump starts to do kung fu moves thats another stage i loved.

Thanks guys !!! Ive had my scan at 14 weeks and i think thats the only one i get :( My next appointment is not for another 8 weeks.

I'm booking a scan for mid/end of August to find out what sex the baby is.

I think i'll be buying one of them doppler things as my husband would love to hear the heartbeat and movements x

Thats great news, as Zany says wait until baby starts moving, that is just an amazing feeling, watching your bump move around.

Watching the bump move around sounds quite freaky to me !!!!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously guys, if it wasnt for you lot on here, i think i may have went mad !!! Your advice has been brilliant every time, none of my close friends have ever been pregnant so they dont have any advice. They just listened to my moaning :)

So i'm sending a big massive hug to you all cos you deserve it !!! And i think the moderator should give you another medal xxxx

Glad you'refeeling alot more positive!! Like you I wasn't chuffed about being pg, but after my first scan at 12 weeks, tihngs started to sink in and, like you, I began to feel excited and pleased. Just thought I'd let you know that its 'normal' to feel a bit like that.

Great news!  It is just such a mad and crazy, yet life affirming, roller coaster. It changes you in many ways- loads for the better.  And no one can really prepare you for it as you have to experience it for yourself!
