Blimey it seems so long ago that eds was that tiny.

I would recommend checking it out with your Health Visitor, or GP just to be on the safe side but if he seems happy in himself it could be nothing.

Have you changed his bubble bath or washing powders?

How often do you bath him? It could be (just guessing) that he is being bathed too often and its affecting his skin.

Where is the skin peeling? Is it all over or just one area? If you have eczema in the family it cold be that - although it normally starts between 2 and 4 months with patches of dry red skin around the face, ears, in the creases of the neck, elbows and knees.

(Edit: Have been looking in my books and one said if you have changed milks or have weaned from the breast then eczema can occur - also when foods are changed even in you if you are breastfeeding (most commanly eggs, dairy, wheat) or skin irratents such as pet fur, wool or washing powders)

Hope that helps a bit but I think the HV is your best option.

Haven't changed anything, the peeling is on his wrists, tummy and ankles.  There are no red patches just the peeling, I had eczema as a baby and his doesn't look like its that, am waiting on the HV giving me a call back, thanks x

My son was exactly the same, even though I'd been using baby oil in his bath and on his skin. My HV suggested the Boots Expert baby sensitive moisturising lotion - its brilliant. Within a few days, his skin was sorted out. I'd recommend it, I'm still using it now.

All of mine had exactly what you are describing it went away in time.  I can't remember exactly what I was told but it is something to do with them having been in the amniotic fluid for so long and their skin adjusting to normal levels of coming off and regrowing.

I had this with ds2 and the last 2 boys, I used E45 cream it moistens them.  The last one of mine was dry skinned for a couple of months.  I was always told that they only get like that when they are overdue, but who knows why, it's just very worrying as a mom
