I'm so proud of myself!

I am the least 'sewing' orientated person in the world. I just cant do it.

However my son is short for his age and wonderweb is nothing short of useless!

So I found a video explaining how to do hems on ebay and yesterday I did eds two pairs of school trousers. My wheat bag also was full of holes (my grandad made it and hes been dead 5 years so it must be 10/15 years old at least) so I cut an old pair of Tony's trousers up (yes I had his permission dont worry) and made a new cover for it. I'm very proud of myself!

I do have a question though. Anyone know where I can get a small, cheap sewing machine that is very simple to use (sewing machines hate me and die when I go near them)? Possibly one that just does edging and hemming?

This should all come naturally to me - my nan is a member of the Embroiders Guild amongst other groups and has had her stuff displayed in all sorts of exhibitions at places such as the NEC in Birmingham and Earls Court in London - but it doesnt, I've always been useless but am trying to teach myself the basics to get by.

Well done. I am hopeless at sewing. At school I was so afraid of the sewing machine that I always tried to use the hand one never the electric one. One day I had no choice and managed to sew the top of my finger which now has a super scar on it. Really wish i could sew it is such a useful skill to have. I can't knit either but thats another story.

( sorry about italics , not sure what my computer is up to !!)
