What a state this country is getting in. We have been on the waiting list to be reg with a dentist for nearly 3 years !!

Part of my back tooth broke, a bridged false tooth broke off and now I'm left with a big space in the front with a metal peg still in my gum and half of the inside of a front tooth missing cos of the bridge falling off. This was all 3 weeks ago !

I was in constant pain last week and then had to get one of those temp filling kits. I've rang and rang the emergency dental line but they are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard !!!

In short, I'm now going to write to our local Mp cos this is absolutely shocking to be treated this way.

Since I temp filled them, it's been a bit better.  I've tried and tried. I get lots of understanding receptionist ladies, but the same story time and time again. "No, we aren't taking on patients. No you can't be seen even if you are an emergency without being registered"

They did offer me to see a dentist in, wait for it, Inverness at 9am. I can't get there for that time of the morning with two wee ones in tow.

Have you rang the NHS direct line? I know there are a couple of dentists round here they will refer you too some are by appointment, some run on a Sunday that require no appointments. I was really lucky here in that we got a dentist place straight away when we moved, it is quite a drive away but as its only every 6 months and I have the car I grin and bare it. I think I could transfer to a more local one now run by the same people if I actually enquired (it wasnt open when I first registered) but I just haven't got round to it.

I hope you get your teeth sorted. Toothache is one thing I cant tolerate

Hunny for the last 3 years (since i moved from lincolnshire to cambridgeshire) i have been doing an 1hr and a half trip to see a dentist (couldn't move dentist as no places where available).

I called NHS last week and they found me a place if no places exist they should give you your local health authority phone number so you can have a go at them.

Good luck hun hope you get sorted out soon x
