I know this may sound silly but I'm really worried.  The thing is, I've had nothing but problems for years and when I think things are looking better I always get thrown back again.  Well, this time things are getting better, my life seems to be well and truely on the up, first Tony turns up, and now his mum is asking him when is he coming back rather than trying to keep him away, and today I got the most amazing news I cant really go into online but it's something I've been waiting to hear for the last year and it's finally happened, as well as other little things that all add up.

Now the bit I'm worried about...I've started to drop my barrier and enjoy the good things that are happening, it's been a very long time since I've done this and I'm terrified it's just all going to collapse around me.  I want to enjoy all the good news I'm getting and make the most of it but scared that if I do it's all going to be taken away from me again and I'll be back to square one.

How can I get over this and life for the happy moments I'm getting instead of worrying about what could be?

Hunny it's only natural to worry when things start getting good again.... just take it day by day..... just remeber how far you've come hunny.

If things do happen remember you can control somethings in your life like being a non smoker and try and concentrate on those things. The rest will or will not happen and it's not worth trying to worry about the what if's if you can help it.

Good luck not much use i know but try to believe in youself hunny

Hi Strawberry,

I am new to the site but I think I know how you feel, I've had a horrible few years, I lost my dad to cancer in January and I have had a lot of problems getting the right support for my autistic son. I could go on but won't!

I try to think things through and after watching the sheer bravery of my dad and son I can't justify feeling down about anything. It may seem easy for me to say but there are so many people who are going to hell and back and their lives are definately much harder than mine.

Take each day as it comes! Its the best advice given to me by my dad and I do my best to do this, he never gave up fighting!

Jen,
It is always sensible to keep just that little bit of guard up, as everything that could go wrong, sometimes does.. but i see no reason why you shouldn't start enjoying your life, as you've worked so damn hard to get where you are today in so many aspects!

It's really lovely to see you so positive and loving life, rather than trying to just get on with things until something else comes around the corner.

Be happy hun, you and your gorgeous children deserve to be.
