We've been asked to post the following by a lady from the BBC called Maria Atherton, who is researching the possible affects of St Johns Wort on the contraceptive pill, if you feel you can help her with her research then please contact her.

I'm a researcher working for the BBC Science department.  I'm currently looking to talk to people who may have tried St Johns Wort, the herbal remedy.  I wanted to find people who feel that St Johns Wort interferred with their contraceptive pill and could have led to them falling pregnant.

Please email me for a quick chat with your details to maria.atherton@bbc.co.uk or telephone me on 0208 008 3991.

Hmm interesting. I'll have to look back and see if I was taking St Johns Wort when I fell pregnant as I was using the pill. I did take it for a while but cant remember if the times coincide.

I had heard that St Johns interfered but never experienced it myself.  I used to take St Johns when I was on the Depo injection and it never stopped it from working.  I know antibiotics can but I thought that was because of the upset tummy you can get with antib's more than the actual tablet.
