hello there well svannah has been having alot of problems in her lady regions since march this year and after alot of time back and forth to the gp we were eventually referred to our local hospital they didnt know what was wrong with her and after several appt there she was refferred to birmingham childrens hospital.

to cut a very long story short, she was screaming when she went to the toliet both 1s and 2s, then she started to bleed from down there and all the gp could suggest was thrush and then constipation ... both of which i knew were incorrect.

well she saw the peadiactric dermatologist and they have diagnosed her with an autoimmune disorder called lichen sclorusus(sp) there is no cure and hopefully it will disappear at puberty!

she is being treated with steriods, and petroleum. this will hopefully ease the pain.

she has to return for regular check-ups as they need to keep an eye on the scarring as this can turn cancerous due to thinnin of the skin.

well thanks for reading if you got this far

Tilly

That sounds really nasty and a big worry for you.  Glad she is being treated and I hope it helps her feel better soon.

Oh ouch - I really feel for her that must be horrible. And horrible for you as parents to watch her go through. Well done for pushing to get the right diagnoses hun!

I really do hope the medication helps her and that it does sort itself out by puberty. In the mean time lots of cuddles always help.

I really feel for you & especially your DD.

My DD is literally just over 3 months older and certainly has had her fair share of thrush and its complications. It's bad enough seeing her suffer. I can hardly begin to imagine what you are going through.

Best Wishes
