Any advice how to get rid of tonsillitis, a very bad cold, and a tickly cough in 48 hours?  Dd has got all 3 and she is in a school musical which is starting on Wednesday.  She hates being off school ill, and although she has resigned herself that she may well be off school tomorrow, she really doesn't want to be.  However she wants to be fully fit and ready to sing and dance on Wednesday.  Any ideas? she hates honey and lemon, but I may be able to persuade her, if it is the only way to nurse her back to health fast.

I find gargling and drinking soluable paracetamol helps sore throats etc.

Hope she gets well soon (is there nothing the doc can give her for the tonsilitus?)

Thanks for that ladies, yes she had antibiotics for her tonsillitis but it hasn't made a difference, out of desperation last night we gave her some of the babies tixylix for her cough and she woke up this morning a totally different child.  She will have to have a couple of early nights as she looks awful, but lets hope she is over the worst of it.
