I am new to this so bear with me.  They need to name a new area as GrandMadMums...   :)

We have two 2-year olds living with us at this time.  One we have temporarily taken custody of.  Both of them are as sweet as can be and I have raised 3 kids of my own but now that I'm older of course I find myself a bit out of touch.  I work full-time and grandpa watches them during the day.  Both kids have energy to just fill up the moon but when together they just feed off each other.  One is a girl and other is a boy and you can certainly tell the difference.  The boy is so active and needs constant redirection at times.  He is a sweetie but needs so much love.  I believe its too early to have him tested for adhd or one of the other issues that seem to plague many these days.  We watch the sugar amounts we give him but you cannot give him water all the time.  We try to do sugar free and watered down juices as well as milk.  From the time they wake they are on the go and always into something, need ideas as to what we can do with the two of them together to help quiet down the chaos that goes on from morning to bedtime at nite.  Or am I asking for a bit too much because of their age?  The girl is good at coloring, helping out but put him in the mix all h      breaks out.

What sorts of things is the wee lad interested in ? I know they are still a bit young, but would he enjoy doing some craft stuff ?

yes they are a bit young.  As of yet he really hasn't started showing interest in a specific thing.  He has his dvd's, he likes the kids movies that are out.  You really have to get 'in his face' so called to have him focus on something but then he is off and running again.  I'm thinking its because of him now living with us.  We have taken over temp. custody of him so his daddy can get hisself together.  Mommy is having issues so now he is in our home without daddy and I know that is part of it.  I also believe I am seeing some behavior issues but I know that it is a bit too early to be diagnosed with any of that nor would I want that at this young age.  I keep saying 'hes a boy'.

Saltdough or similar would be good for him to express himself in a bit of a more appropriate way. My middle child was a handful and a half at that age. She was mainly in a flat all day so she was a bit "stir crazy". Are there good places to play out or any groups that you could go to ?
