I'm afraid I dont know and I can only imagine how hard it must be for you but the best thing to do is to wait to speak with the specialist. It can be so difficult waiting for an answer but sometimes searching for the answer yourself can just make things worse and you end up imagining the worst scenarios.
I did try and do a little searching and as I thought it is very complicated to those of us without medical degrees. The names of 2 conditions came up - one of which is Turners Syndrome and the other is Noonan's Syndrome. The first was originally thought to only affect females but there is now a male version. Both seem to stem from a lack of y chromosome. The risks I think are down to the fact that when you look into these cases they say there is a 50/50 chance of passing the condition onto any children you may have. Both have been connected to fertility problems.
They both say that one of the most comman symtoms is a small stature and that it can remain undiagnosed in some less severe cases.
However - and its a very big BUT - I dont have a medical degree, nor do I know anything more than what you have told us about your husbands condition. It could be one of these condition, but it could be something totally unrelated. The last thing I want to do is scare you but I also understand your need for more information. So if you want to look into these conditions more you have the names, but please dont scare yourself until you have some proper answers from the specialist.
I would recommend pestering the hospital constantly until you have a date to see the specialist as this will give you something to work towards. I really hope I have helped in putting this info as I wasnt sure if I should or not.
I did a search on 'missing y chromosome in males' and that is how I got the results I did so I would recommend going that way if you want to look into it some more.
Good luck and please let us know what happens when you see the specialist. Take care.
Love Madz
