Hi all just a quick question,

As you all know ive started to wean leo. Hes just over 14 weeks old, I was giving him a 1/4 of rusk a day but now giving him baby rice which he seems to love,

Thing is once you have given your baby solids does that mean you cant skip a day like you have to give solid every day from now on? (hope this is making sence)

Just i didnt give him any yesterday he just had his usuall milk, He was very settled tho,

In my eyes i dont think it matters but would like other ppls opinions, As most of you know i havnt told my hv about me weaning leo thats why i cant ask her!!!! If she found out think she would chop my head off!!!

thanks all.

xx

Helloooo

Isn't it funny how people are so scared of talking to their hv's? I think they get trained in making mums feel stupid

Don't think it would matter if you missed a day at the minute, as he is just having tastes and getting used to eating. How much baby rice are you giving? I would have thought he'd just need more milk if he missed his solids.

I wouldn't skip a day with Archie now, as he is on 3 meals a day! Some days he'll eat like a gannet and other days he's not really interested.

Having great fun at the minute as he wants to hold the spoon and feed himself, but his aim isn't good! Bless him, he's only 20 weeks. Started weaning him at nearly 16 weeks.

hth xx

Nope it doesn't matter!  Fred has been on solids for 6 weeks now, and every so often he still gets a day of just his bottles.  When they are older and poorly the hv themselves tell you it doesn't matter about foods, just make sure they are getting liquids, so I wouldn't worry too much.  Hv's are brilliant, but they are also the pits.  It depsends on whether they themselves have kids or not as to whether they are any good though!

hi hun, at this early stage it doesn't matter, just when they come to rely on food more than their milk.  It's still early days yet so dont worry bout it.  tc jen xxx
