Morning Girls,

Is it alright to cook with a little oil & butter? I have the Annabel Karmel recipe book and in alot of her casseroles & meals she uses both. My lo has just turned 6mths. Butter contains cow's milk and wasn't sure if it's alright to use, I think you can use cow's milk in cooking from 6mths is that right? At the mo she is just having a variety of veggies and I made soup for her the other week which went down a treat!

I have cooked for her since the begginning of weaning and she won't touch jars! which I don't mind really but want to start adding meat and things now for iron etc

Ta much

You can use olive oil or veg/sunflower oil and also butter or margerine.  Yes it is ok to cook with cows milk from 6mnths and then to drink cows milk from 12mnths.

Ollie is the same has never had jars and won't touch them now he is 9mnths old.

Happy cooking!

thanks for the reply. It was in her book from 7mths so wasn't too sure whether to give it or not and then spend the rest of the day thinking, should I have done that!!

I know what you mean, there is so much conflicting advice when it comes to weaning you don't know what to do for the best.
