I had a huge amount of success with a BabyBjorn - travelled with my six month daughter to Abu Dhabi with it too.  Now she is bigger I have bought one of the cocoon-type ones (by Premaxx), but am not having quite so much success with it.  As soon as I put her in it - sitting up with her bum supported by the sling, she cries....has anybody else tried one and have some handy hints?!!

I have to say I never had any real success with slings with any of my children.  None of them liked them and I always ended up taking them out after a very short period of time.  The only time I did get success was when they were a little older and could go in the frame type ones on my back.  Sorry not much help.

I really want a back carrier, but DH says there too expensive for the amount of use we'd get out of them.

Do you think they're value for money?
