Does anyone know how to get it off! we were always told to put it in the freezer and scrape it off with a sharp knife, but my freezer doesn't want it to be cold enough it would seem! Does anyone have any other ideas as ds1 needs the clothes for tomorrow as his other set are in moms house being washed

When I had it on my clothes at school, the freezer didn't work either, I think that is a myth!! - I took it to my chemistry teacher and she put something on it and it came off straight away...

um....have you got such a thing as "sticky stuff remover" from betterware?  that might work?

Have you tryed white spirites?.. Just be carefull try it on the fabric first in a spot that cant be seen as It should take away the stickyness helping it to come off.

theres a spray on you can get

rubbing ice cubes on only helps if its dry

Well the freezer hadn't worked last night, like it has done in the past! So first thing this morning I sat and used turps on ds1's trousers! YAY it worked!

But because he only had the one set of clothes at home, dh kept him off school as he couldn't go smelling of the stuff! The school being good at discouraging truancy always phones up if a child is absent unless it has been previously arranged, called dh this morning to ask why he wasn't at school, and as soon as they found out it was cos he had no clothes because of chewing gum, they were ever so good and if we could have named a child that had put chewing gum on him(it must have been on a chair the way he got it) then they would have probably been up to their knees in trouble! lol

The school was very apologetic, but happy we had managed to get the stuff off!
