Louis Was on Aptamil from birth but was really unsettled he was only going about 2 1/2 hours between feeds & at about 8wks mw suggested omneo comfort so i tried it and i saw a difference immediatly the milk is a lot thicker so u need either a medium flow teat or a variable flow and also the milk is alot more starchier it settles at the bottom of the bottle so u really have to give it a good shake and also make it up with hand hot water not cooled or it wont mix well!! Louis now goes about 31/2 4 hrs between feeds and sleeps 7 hrs at nite he also started losing weigh on aptamil but put 3lb on in a fortnight with omneo the HV said it well reccomended the only down side though is your lo's have frequent runny poo's this is completely normal though as it shows its alot more gentle on the digestion i would reccomend it as its done Louis the world of good!!

I tried Ella on omnio comfort when she was messing around with her feeds, but she just would not drink it. I tried for 4 or 5 feeds then got really concerned as she'd only taken 1-1.5oz a time so went back to SMA gold. I think it scared her into appreciating the SMA!!!

One of my friends uses is and swears by it. As Rin says, you do need a faster flow teat as the milk is thick and you need to make it up with hotter water. It can also make the poo very runny and green!!!

I tried omneo comfort a few days ago with Daniel. He was not impressed at all. The formula stinks of cauliflower cheese. lol  It was recommended as he suffers terribly with colic but we had to give up trying with it as he also was only taking an ounce at a time then refusing anymore. He had a terrible belly that night and hardly slept so he's back on his farleys now. I think i'm going to have to wait for him to grow out of it as nothing seems to work. xx

Dawnelise, have you tried colief? Ella had terrible colic and I tried everthing I could find, till I stumbled across colief - and since then shes been a different baby. Its a bit of a faff in that you have to add 2 drops when you make the feed, then leave it for 4 hours after which its only good for a further 8 hours, but its well worth it for the result.

If you want to know anymore about it, pm me.

xxx

Hi dizie,

I have been using colief for a couple of weeks now and it really does help Daniel. It's not as painful for him to feed and takes more milk at his feeds. I'm wondering though and might mention it to the doctor whether or not he thinks Daniel might have a lactose intolerance alot of his symptoms fit the bill. As the colief breaks the lactose down in the bottle. we had a few days of hell last weekend as we ran out of colief. thanks for the advice mate anyway. I would recommend people to try the colief as it reduces the crying by alot. xx
