Ella is on Cow and Gate step up 3 milk and I wondered if anyone who uses/used that went on to step up 4?

The only difference is that it contains 15% more energy, for those active babies, which Ella really is but then again she seems OK on no 3. I don't see the point in changing for the sake of it, but just wondered what experiences people had.

I intend to get her on cows milk when she turns 1, and no 4 is suposed to taste more like it - Greedy, perhaps you could try them and let me know?!?

Ella gets on really well with it. She was on SMA before and although she had the gold, then white then progress, feeding her was always a bit of an ordeal.

With the cow and gate, giving her a bottle is no longer a hassle. Baby milks are all pretty much the same, but I think she prefers the taste of cow and gate. If I have another and bottle feed, I'd use c & g from the start.

That said, i do struggle to get Ella to drink the pint a day, which is why i use follow on milk as that has a higher concentrations of vitamins and minerals (inc iron) to make sure that they get the right amount in less milk. I'd deff recommend cow and gate, inc the follow on milk.

We have Travis on Cow and Gate 3 too.  When he was 5 1/2 months old he was drinking lots more so I called the helpline if we could put him up to no3, but she said he had to be 6 months.  I will probably put him on it when he turns 9 months.

Sorry not to be much help just now, but I hope someone is on it somewhere!

HELP DIZ PEEPS!!

Oh lovely lovely Lorna, how I have missed you!!!!!!

Ella is 9 months now, which is why I'm thinking about it. Stage 4 is a massive 1p a tub cheaper in tesco you know!! Imagine what I could do with those 1ps!!!

Think I might ring the helpline and see what they say about step 4...

Right then peeps.... We tried Ella with stage 4 milk....

I tried her on it because its supposed to taste more like cows milk and the other day when I was round at my sisters, Ella nicked my nephew's cup and drank the entire cup of cows milk!!!!

Its a lot thicker than stage 3 and yes, it does taste like cows milk (i tried it!!!) its sweeter though - but no way near as sweet as normal baby milk.

I put some in a cup, and she drank 2 oz - and then SCREAMED!!! So I put it in a bottle, but because its thicker, she had to suck harder on it which I think hurt her ears...

So, the conclusion?!? I'm gonna spend that extra penny and stay on stage 3 for the time being. If we get to a point where she is drinking milk from a cup before she's 1, I will change over to this to get her used to normal milk flavour.

Hey Diz,

I'm now putting Travis on no4 cow and gate, and he is fine with it.  I havn't tried it myself .... yet.  But, he seems to be doing well on it.  I can't wait till he can drink normal cows milk!

Sorry to hear Ella wasn't too good on it.
