I just bathed Leah and I noticed she had a bit of a sore bum. I loooked a little harder and notice near her girly bits she is very very red (blood red but shes not bleeding).

Could it just be nappy rash or thrush?

Kaz

Kaz, Ella has had a run of nappy rash and thrush recently. When it was thrush, it was bright red - almost raw looking. If its like that, its worth taking her to the docs. In the mean time, the following will help:

  • Only use cotton wool and water when cleaning her at a nappy change
  • change her nappy more regularly
  • don't use any product in her bath, just water
  • use a barrier cream every nappy change
  • try and let her have a few sessions without a nappy each day. I used to lay a towel on the floor or some pampers change mats and let her roll around

Hope this helps xxxx

i would take her to the docs to get some cream to clear it up, but for the mean time just make sure she's not in a wet a nappy to long and use some barrier cream.

hope she's a better girly soon

xxx
