Harrison goes to his first 'official' school party next monday afternoon, the birthday boy Ryan will be 4 and although Harry plays with him and is the same age i am stuck for ideas as to what to get him

obviously i dont want to spend a fortune but i dont want to be a skin flint any one got any ideas?????

When my kids go to their friends birthday parties i tend to buy something that my kids would like to have as they are the same age.

With boys I usually get a cheap action man toy...or cheap figurine. (ie power rangers etc) There have been some good board games on sale recently ie Hungry Hippos and operation for 6 pound!

If all else fails a gift set of paper pens etc. Rergardless I usually spend between 6 and 8 pound, with a card. If it is a special friend I usually spend a wee bit more.

kimberely has recently been to two birthday party, at 4th and a 5th and for both i got them a jigsaw puzzels

i got that cos i know kim like doing them so a i thought her friends would.

some nice craft stuff-scissors, paint! coloured paper, glue

or musical instruments!-tambourine! maraccas

a nice game to encourage turn taking-the kids in my class love dominoes!! i know!

or a dressing up outfit-or hat/tabbard

Thanks for all the ideas girls

I went on a little outing to the trafford center today and picked up a space hopper and a kite from the elc it only cost £8 for the two so i was quite pleased i just hope he likes them lol

Jops i got Louis some maraccas and a mini tamborine from there also he loves them!

We've got a 4th birthday party on monday.  It's for a little girl who has almost everything already making it difficult to buy for her.  I think I'm going to get her a cute little beading set so she can make her own jewellery.  I've seen a wooden set I like for 10 squid equivalent.  Not cheap by UK standards!
