thanks Trudi.

Dh is going to look at the part of Wales that is near Liverpool on Monday.

There is such a difference in the ages kids start school isn't there? Beks nursery teacher was telling me the things they would expect of a child about to start school and there are quite a few things that she can't do yet!! Like name 3 dimensional shapes? recognise her name when written down?  My god I am going to be busy in the next few months trying to teach her.

i think all area's are different.

i used tolive in sunderland and if we had stayed there my aughter would of started recpetion (full time school) in sep 05 at 4 1/2, and there is only 1 intake a year.

but we moved down to reading and it's different.

She won't start recpeion till apr 06 and she will be two days of 5.

so i think your best bet is to call the local schools where u are moving too.

Thanks Kim&TammysMummy.

I just need to find an area. I see your lo is starting in April, yet Liverpool only seem to have one intake a year. It will be somewhere in the northwest of England that we will be living so don't see one council having 4 start dates and the council next door only having 1.

We were talking about it last night and realise now we really need to get a move on.

Vickimom- maybe in your area there is no registration procedure. The local authorities seem to work so differently!!
