I've decided after pureeing/ mashing fruit for Travis instead of having jarred fruit, I'm starting on the pureeing dinner stuff too.

The jar food goes awfully runny if it's left for a while and dosn't seem like 'real food'

The only thing is the grandparents.  They get him jars, it's going to be tough to get them to stop buying jars.  They think it's too much bother me spending ages pureeing up stuff.  I only want whats best for him.

Any other mums full time pureer?

Ellie has a jar when we go out because most places won't reheat baby food properly and of course homemade stuff has to be made v hot first (if it's got meat in or been frozen)...and then left to cool down

I cook all her other food but I don't puree it anymore really, just give it a quick zuzz in the processor or mash it with a fork...

I find the jars v expensive and they all taste the same..pretty bland really..!  I do give Ellie tins of kids pasta shapes - (ones with reduced salt, sugar, no additives etc.) - she absolutely loves this but won't touch the ones in baby tins..

I use Annabel Karmel's recipes, Ellie seems to love most of them...

hello - i quite like the heinz beef/chicken/cod or turkey puree - which u mix with ur own veggies - at least it can be a bit chunky!

also - microwave  pear mashed with a fork is quick & good!

i've never pureed - just mashed

but a lot of the bought jars/pots are very liquidy & i feel as Roan has 4 teeth he needs sthg a bit more coarse/lumpy/chewy - hey - just like my own cooking!!

In between postings we gave Tom jarred foods, but they tasted foul.  I was relieved when my blender arrived-now he eats what we eat.  To be honest, Tom's being a fussy little rascal at the moment and won't eat anything unless he can eat it with his hands.  He has also been trying to feed himself so I try and make him foods that will stay on the spoon (if there are any) and finger foods.

I make all my own food for Niamh. When I first started weaning her I made it myself and now she won't eat jars at all! I tried her with one ages ago and she just spat the lots out and cried! Don't blame her though they are awful! I only cook once a fortnight and freeze it all..or if she has a cheese sauce with veg or pasta I just make it up there and then.

I just puree meat but mash everything else.

You can buy Peter Rabbit pasta from the supermarket and it goes to perfect *lump* size when cooked so you don't need to cut it up. You can also get the pasta sauce too! she is going through and cheese sauce thing at the minute!

Ed has never eaten jars, they were refused at day one!

I 'zuzz up' all our meals and he eats that, mum cant believe how well he eats.

Put your foot down with the grandparents - he's your baby!
