I think it's a great thing...  I can't stand going out and coming home to find my clothes and hair not to mention the house as my clothers have been lying on the floor and smoke has escaped from them.

It's a horrible habit too.  No offence to smokers.

Hopefully it will be better for our children.  They will have a better lifestyle!

P.S.   I don't want to get cancer / die from passive smoking either.

I didn't miss the point.  I was trying to point out that people have the right to smoke just as people have the right not to smoke and no-one should be able to take away anyones rights for anything.

Yes i do know smoking and passive smoking kills as both my grandparens died from smoke related illnesses and only one of them smoked.

im a bit 50/50 on this 1

Im a non smoker myself & think the ban is a good thing in general but am still not sure about the ban in pubs (non food 1s)& clubs, i do hate smelling of smoke the next day & stay away from really smoky pubs (the 1s that make ur eyes water) but at the end of the day its my choice 2 go in2 the pub in the 1st place & i feel the smokers hav just as much right 2 b there as i do

I know there r so many arguements against this but this is just my opinion

About bloody time is my view,Clap

Im glad we will be able to take Harrison & Louis to the 'family' pubs so they can play in the fun factory without worrying which direction the smoke is comming from and having to move!

Also me & dp will be able to go and sit in the 'non smoking' area of a restaurant and not still be able to smell & breath the smoke from the 'smoking area' because there wont be one

my view is, if people want to smoke they should do it in the comfort of their own home with only them to breath in the disgusting things

i find most (and i stress most not all) smokers are inconsiderate and light up wherever and when ever they want to, with no regards to whose near them whether it be a baby or an adult

Although I'm a smoker, I'm right behind it. I think it will help me to stop as my biggest downfall is when I'm out drinking! I also end up just smoking for the sake of it but if I know I can't then I won't and it's a bit of a hassle to go outside! so hopefully it will make me chuck it once and for all!

I would consider myself a "considerate" smoker but also realised it more when I was pregnant how horrible it was going into a pub or whatever and having to breathe in someone else smoke...I was so against it when I was pg!!.. If I were to light up somewhere and had a non smoker next to me then they would be the ones that moved and I don't think thats right..we choose to smoke they don't!

not really! I smoke in the day sometimes when Niamh is asleep and have a few at night when she is in bed but I could give that up ok, it's when I'm out having a drink is where I start to think, hmmmm I'll just have 1! then ! leads to 2 etc etc!!

I also don't want Niamh to see me smoke and I don't want her to think thats how I smell and it's normal!
