I agree that non smokers shouldn't have to be subjected to ciggarette smoke, but i think it's out of order banning it completely. As far as i'm concerned smokers have rights too. I think it would have been much better if they banned smoking in all restaurants, because i don't think smoking around food is nice at all. I also think some pubs should be completely smoke free but not all pubs. Surely they could have had smoking pubs and non smoking pubs. That way everyone has a choice.

There is nothing illegal about smoking but it is not nice to see whilst sitting eating a meal. Nor is it nice to smell or breathe. I think it is about social acceptance, and i dont think it should be accepted in public areas. smokers CHOOSE to smoke and inhale the potentially fatel substances...a non smoker CHOOSES not to risk there life therefore smoking should be banned from public places. It is the same with taking drugs, legal ones, and i dont no walking round with your top off... these arent illegal but not socially acceptable and therefore should be done in private. I think this should be the same with smoking. Fine do it if thats what you want but in private. If it wasnt something so potentially harmful then id say we were all equal in rights but by smoking in public it is not only your life you are putting at risk.

Im sorry if this waffled a bit..I had a very good point to make but then questioned myself on the legality of it, I rang the police station and I was right but then i forgot where i was going with it lol..anyway i forgot the question but I vote in favour of the ban lol xxxx

And this is the same government that introduced 24 hour licensing for pubs? What about drink driving and the lives that are lost because of it?

i think its a good thing, i am a smoker but i think it will make me smoke less or even give up!!

dont smoke in the house anyway, just when when out and about or in pub, so hopefully i will give up as i wont be able to smoke in either of these places!!
