I plan 2 buy Ryan a potty for the summer just so he can get used 2 it being around - i hav no intention on trying 2 potty train him thats early cause he'll only b 13-16 months thru the summer

I just remember my sister was introduced 2 the potty about 1y/o & eventually just went by herself 1 day

She had 1 of those 1s that has a removable potty cover so it can be used as a chair so she was always sitting on it 2 watch tv etc & i think that made it less threatening

Good idea P!  I have no clue at all when it comes to potty training.  I'm glad that I'll be the one to train him though and share his experience.  I plan to do a home learning course when he's a year old.

For all LO's potty training, keep up the good work!

I plan to get one of those toilet seats with the baby toilet seat attached!

And a few pottys around the house to help him go quicker.

we got max the three in one potty

you know the potty, toilet seat and step thingie

he never bothered with the seat nor the potty

went straight to the big boys toilet

uses the step to brush his teeth and to cause general destruction on the bathroom sink! pmsl

Aww thats great Zo - not about him causing destruction

We had a great step thing for my sister that had the little toilet seat attached, it all folded nicely at the side of the toilet & by 2.5-3y/o she could manage putting it up herself

I know with me & my brother my mum always sat us on the potty b4 she went 2 bed but think my sister went dry thru the nite quickly cause she never done that with her

Is she showing other signs of being ready?

If not I'd leave it for her to start to show that she is ready to be potty trained - then again I dont see what harm it could do and it might work.

Have fun lol

funny you should ask about how the potty training is going, lilp.

i thought it was going well with max until he wet himself 4 times today.  dh got abit annoyed with him the last time cos he can't understand why max can be dry for weeks on end, then have 4 accidents in one day.  he's not ill, and he has access to 3 toilets, but still he wets himself-grrrr. is anyone else'slo doing this?  is this normal?

i'm hoping it's a one-off and he'll go back to using the toilet again...

is there any other possible reason he might b doing it - for attention or something happened 2 upset him

I used 2 wet the bed if i got stressed by a situation during the day right up until about 7 or 8 (i had a stressful upbringing lol)
