For me I have found that girls are different from boys. I started both of my girls at 12 months. They were pretty regular tho' I put them on in the morning and usually always they would pee in it and when they did we all jumped up and down and acted like idiots and they loved the reaction so they would do it just to see that at first LOL with my first daughter she was trained during the day at 18 mos the second one was at like 19 or 20. My son he's 2 and he could care less we tried that with him and he never did anything and the one time he did and we jumped around and praised him he just looked at us like RIGHT someone pass me my diaper please needless to say he still hasn't done it yet and he really could care less. Every now and again we around people he'll say he has to potty and he will pee but other than that no interest. So anyways from what i heard it depends on the child (Loooooooong winded huh)

erm...strange one here, libby is 17 months old and we havent bought her a potty yet...however i try to leave her nappy off on a morning coz she doesnt usually do anything til around lunchtime. today, and just a few mins ago, she had no nappy on and was happily playing and she went and got a nappy. i put it on her and off she went to play again...then a few mins later she ran up to me pulling at her nappy wanting it off. so i took it off and she said TA! hahaha i told her she was a very clever girl! she's weed in it then wanted it off straight away. she's never done this before.

...time to buy a potty me thinks lol

Sounds promising Star!  I was only thinking yesterday we will all be onto the potty training next lol.  Ols loves to walk around with his nappy off he has a potty and pretends to wee in it by standing over it and laughing then walks way and wees somewhere on the carpet....

Good luck with the potty training.

Star it does sound like Libby is ready to attempt potty training, as they say one of the first signs to look out for are them acknowledging doing something in the nappy

We started putting my daughter on the potty around her first birthday, before her nap and before bedtime. She'll pee and poo in it with no problem (she's now 18 months). She still wets her diaper (sorry, pull-up pants!) throughout the day, but rarely has a 'grunty' unless she's on the potty.

Hehe my girls love the potty but still won't use it. They will sit on it and like your lo Sam will run off and pee on the carpet. She did this the other night and grabbed her clean bed clothes to wipe it up. Luckily i caught her in time to stop her hehe.

Jamie-leigh will sit on it and i think she is trying to do something on it as she semes to be trying to push something out lol.

I will now try and get them in routine of sitting on the potty whenever i can. That way they might start useing it for what its for. xxx
